Gulf Copper is deeply committed to serving the communities in which we operate. From corporate donations to holiday fundraising events, the Gulf Copper team volunteers their time and effort year round in their commitment to give back to our communities. Among other endeavors, we believe in nurturing our youth, replenishing our planet, supporting our military and caring for those less fortunate.

 

 

 

The Arc Center of Southeast Texas

The Arc of Texas is the oldest and largest nonprofit, volunteer organization in the state committed to creating opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to be included in their communities and to make the choices that affect their lives. Cell Phones for Soldiers

Cell Phones for Soldiers is a program that converts old cell phones into pre-paid calling cards for soldiers so that they can keep in touch with their families while stationed overseas. Started in 2004 by two teens with a desire to help, the program collects unused mobile phones through several sites nationwide, and sold to ReCellular. The funds are then used to purchase and distribute calling cards for our soldiers around the world. (For more information)

Drive for Dresses

It is the purpose of the Mary Madeline Project to provide comfort and support to grieving families that have suffered the death of a baby. It was founded in memory of Madeline Marie Erickson who died at seven weeks of age and in honor of all the babies before and after her that have touched our lives. They are a non-profit organization that donates infant/baby burial gowns and blankets to local hospitals for bereaving parents. Women donate their cherished wedding gowns to the project and volunteers give of their time, talents and love by making the baby burial gowns and blankets. Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig and Museum

Gulf Copper is a proud sponsor of the Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig and Museum located in Galveston, Texas just a few miles from one of Gulf Copper's flagship yards. After sustaining considerable damage from Hurricane Ike in 2008, as well as long-term deterioration, Gulf Copper played a sizeable role in the refurbishment process. Contributing labor and materials at cost, Gulf Copper aided significantly in the restoration and improvement of the landmark. (For more information)

Salvation Army Red Kettle

The "miracle" of Christmas is repeated over and over again through the joy of caring and sharing. The traditional red kettle is an integral part of the Christmas scene, with millions of dollars donated each year to aid needy families, seniors, and the homeless, in keeping with the spirit of the season. Seafarers Center –
Galveston and Port Arthur

The Seafarers Center is a non-profit, multi-denominational organization aimed at serving the needs of men and women who live and work at sea. The welfare of the seafarer and his or her care while in port is important to us. These men and women are fathers and brother, sisters and mothers, husbands and wives ... all of whom are far from home. The Center provides amenities such as reading materials, news outlets and phone services with international capabilities to give these men and women a sense of welcome and comfort while away from home. (For more information)

 
 

 

 

 

Southeast Texas Food Bank

The mission of the Southeast Texas Food Bank is to procure and provide food and other resources to nonprofit organizations to alleviate hunger in the impoverished areas of southeast Texas and the neighboring counties. The Southeast Texas Food Bank serves the counties of Jefferson, Orange, Hardin, Jasper, Newton, Polk, Sabine and Tyler, distributing to approximately 130 nonprofit agencies within these eight counties. Toys for Tots

The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens. Gulf Copper Sponsors Newspapers in Education
